VoIP Gateway functions as a bridge between your office's LAN, WAN, and the Internet connection. Generally, different kinds of transport media have different protocols. VoIP Gateway can let your voice encodes transmit over IP and the remote VoIP Gateway decodes back the voice to the phone, so that you can hear like normal IDD or phone conversation.

What kind of equipments can be connected to VoIP Gateway?
 

Any kind of traditional analog phone sets can be connected to it. Also you can connect VoIP Gateway to your office's PABX's external line port as its input. In this case, the incoming phone calls are from the Internet, they will be routed to your office's stations.

What Internet access speed should I have for using VoIP Gateway?
 

Generally, when we talk about the speed of a network connection, we mean its bandwidth. Our VoIP Gateway products provide low bandwidth consumption capabilities. It will consume minimum average 10Kbps of bandwidth each channel.

How many audio codecs do VoIP Gateway products support?
 
Now we provide G.711, G.723.1 and G.729.a, G.729.b audio codecs in our VoIP Gateway Product line.

Our VoIP Gateway products now support ITU-T's H.323 and SIP protocol.

Can I connect a fax machine to VoIP Gateway and fax through the Internet?
 
Yes. You must connect your fax machine to an FXS Port (RJ11) or in extension.

Can I connect the VoIP Gateway to an ADSL modem?
 
Yes, VoIP Gateway itself is ADSL (PPPoE) dialer, it can provide NAT (Network Address Translation) for the broadband network sharing if is a model with NAT support, our VoIP Gateway also support Fixed IP address.

I am in Hong Kong. When I make a call to my company in Tokyo through VoIP Gateway, the voice quality is good, but while I call to China, the voice quality is sometimes good, sometimes bad. Why?
 
There are some factors may make the voice intermissive. One that happens most of the time is the bandwidth of your network connections. Although you could connect to anywhere all over the world if there is an Internet connection, but the quality of voice mostly depends on the bandwidth the local Gateway could utilize.

WhatSs the advantage of the QoS?
 
The QoS is a mechanism to let certain packets with higher priority passing through networks before the other packets with lower priority. In general VoIP applications, we often set voice packets with higher priority to ensure satisfying quality.
